Pollinator populations are in decline due to habitat loss, climate change, and pesticide use. The loss of pollinators is a threat to food security and the ecosystem. Communities must be educated on how to protect pollinators and their habitats and the importance of doing so.
Bee City Johnstown was started in 2025 as a project of the John B. Gunter Community Leadership Initiative through the Cambria Regional Chamber.Â
Primary Objectives:
Create and maintain pollinator habitats
Educate the public on the importance of pollinators and pollinator protection
